I am currently in the process of coding in the GPS modules, and one thing I am VERY interested in getting implemented is speed camera databases for as many countries as possible.
I am aiming to have notifications of speed cameras, and the speed limits for those cameras.
Of course, it shall be coded in that new cameras can be added "on the go" (or, for safety reasons, you press a button, and it will remember where you were and the speed you were going, so that you can save them when you find a safe place to do so (for legal reasons, we have to say that - anyone who watches Johnny & Denise will understand that
)
As this is going to be (potentially) a huge mission to do so, I may have to re-evaluate it at some stage (unless someone knows how I can read ov2 files - which will make my life MUCH easier!)
Edit: A revalation has been made!!
I've found a way to read ov2 (TomTom Navigator) files, which means that we will have at our disposal databases of speed cameras, which are updated/checked by thousands of people all over the world! Now that the 'hard' part is done, the 'harder' part comes now that we have to code the implementation of how to use these files, and make the experience easy for the users of AIMEE
If you are reading this, then you have stumbled across the homepage of A.I.M.E.E, the latest CarPC Media software.
AIMEE is currently undergoing extreme coding, and we shall be keeping this site up to date with the latest progress and news.
Be sure to check out the Blogs of the developers, where you will get an insight into the things that they are doing, their thoughts and feelings, and even what's happening in their day-to-day life!
The following is the current status of AIMEE, which will be kept up to date as the project progresses.
A.I.M.E.E Status:
Database = 98%
Audio Engine = 95%
Video Engine = 50%
GPS = 30%
Skinnability = 90%
