Recently we have been receiving lots of emails asking us where to download AIMEE from?

As many of you may be aware AIMEE is still in development, We all know its taking a long time to develop but it is a hobbie after all, i can assure you we are still working on it as hard as ever ;)

As soon as a release is ready to download, all registered used will be notified via email.

Many Thanks for your patience

Regards

Frodo has released FrodoXM, and in less than 24hrs, A.I.M.E.E XM - a stand-alone XM application - has been released.

Check the downloads area for details

XM will be fully embedded into A.I.M.E.E upon release - so watch this space!

I've uploaded some screenshots of A.I.M.E.E as it currently is, to show people that we're still working hard on it ;)

Check out the Photos section for the pictures

Some of you may have noticed that the website has been down for the past few days...not through our own wishes, it's now been a year since we registered the domain (we're surprised it's been so long) and I never received the notification from NameCheap that the domain was going to expire, so it ran out without my knowledge!

However I've now put a reminder in lots of places so that I shouldn't forget when it comes to renewal next year ;)

The video of the Digital Car EMP Bomb Challenge the developers of A.I.M.E.E participated in is now availble for download from here

Check it out!

Andrew's been busy, he's found and modified a really nice theme (which you see here), which much suits the AIMEE logo which our skinner, Spaghetti, designed for us last year!

We'll be getting some more content here soon...trust us!

This past weekend was the Digital Car National UK meet, and what a great weekend it was.

The weather was great for both days (despite a slightly shaky start, the sun eventually came out and shone all day!), but the evenings/nights were still a touch too cold! Well, it is only the beginning of April!

We were camping - but it wasn't exactly roughing it. We had hot - and i mean BOILING hot - water within 50m of us, flushing toilets, showers, internet access (3G speeds via a mobile phone, I think this is the first time a file has been downloaded at 35k/sec consistantly when in the middle of a campsite!), about 8 laptops, a projector, Xbox, you name it...we had it!

And, of course, A.I.M.E.E was on show, and everyone who saw it in action asked that golden question - when is it available! (Your guess is as good as mine, guesses on a postcard, the closest to the actual release date wins something...a cookie I guess! )

And, as mentioned before, my Carisma had dual monitors, with A.I.M.E.E running seemlessly on both!

Also, I had some fun with the electric aerial, which was controlled by A.I.M.E.E, people who were leaning near it to look into the boot weren't expecting it to go up!

Andrew's install finally got done...at 1:30pm on the Sunday afternoon, just as voting was due to close...and he won Most Ghetto, probably for actually installing it on the day!

Check out Digital Car for a full review and plenty of pictures from the meet

Ninja Monkey has just released Map Monkey 1.1.3

This latest release adds loads of new features and bug-fixes, but the most interesting thing to me is the MonkeyTalk API which has been developed by NM. This should allow complete control of MapMonkey from within AIMEE, and allow AIMEE to get information from MapMonkey. This basically cuts down on a lot of the work I was going to do for Destinator 3, but saves me the headache of doing so!

I've also sussed the issues I was having with Standby/Hibernate, and getting certain things to happen when this happens (such as safe volume resume for those mornings after a spirited drive with the music up loud! ), and am also working on Multiple Monitor implementation. My own car (MP3Carisma.com) will eventually have multiple monitors, as will Danceheaven's Mitsubishi FTO, so you will be able to put things like music control and GPS on different screens, so you will be able to control your music in full while seeing the GPS!

Anyways, back to work I get

Hrm, has it really been 3 months since I last updated here

Fear not, A.I.M.E.E is still in development! However, due to the Christmas period, and the culmination of many projects at both work and home, unfortunately A.I.M.E.E had to take a back seat during this time.

Things have now slowed down again, and hopefully proper work should commence very shortly.

Another UK Meet is being organised, so any UK people, please sign up and come along!

Who knows, maybe some of you will be running at least a beta of A.I.M.E.E by then!?

Onwards and upwards!

Wow is all I can say!

The guys on the MP3Car forums have been VERY busy with the latest release of the Destinator 3 SDK, and have managed to get it to a state where it can load up full-sized maps, and the majority of the features within it actually work!

Therefore...I'm seriously considering dropping Destinator 2 support, and just supporting Destinator 3, as it does everything D2 can, and more.

Therefore, I recommend you go out and buy Destinator 3 (for PocketPC) and make sure you get in touch with them once you've got it to tell them you've bought it exclusively to use on the PC, and that you would like them to develop future versions for the PC platform.

Anyways, back to work

Update

I've got Speed Cameras now showing up on the D3 maps, in 2d, 3d, and birds-eye modes. The existing code for detecting speed cameras will still remain, due to the lack of more than 2 voice prompts, and a way of getting details on where these cameras are from D3!
